A Trucker is Not Just a Trucker!

Welcome to the Podcast “Truckers Have Feelings” - this is Episode 5. Today's episode comes a day after hurricane Fiona landed on the shores of Nova Scotia in Richmond county. I would like to dedicate this episode to our power crews who work in dangerous conditions to restore power to our homes and businesses, not just here in Eastern Canada but worldwide. One way these crews can do their jobs effectively is through the use of heavy equipment ... A Trucker I know works with these crews hauling the equipment from site to site so these people can get the power restored as quickly as possible, especially when a massive storm like Fiona hits an area. We often hear of the power restoration crews and sometimes what they go through... With those crews are the truck drivers who make it possible for the heavy machinery to be used and help the crews get into remote areas where there is unimaginable damage. Can we understand what our power crews go through during these times of disaster... A big hell no! I want to take this moment to send respect and a huge thank you to these men and women, as well as our truckers who leave the safety of their homes and leave their families back at home, concerned about their safety as they battle unimaginable elements. At the time of this recording, there are so many customers without power, and I truly feel bad for the things others are going through even now, in the dark, the cold, there are a lot of people trying to bring power and peace to a lot of customers living in the aftermath of Hurricane Fiona. Fate whispers to the trucker... You can not withstand this storm. And the trucker whispers back... I am the storm! Race the Rain Ride the wind! Chase the Sunset Only a trucker Can Understand! One more thing for today's show - truckers are not all the same - some are singers, some are ministers (believe me, this is true), some are CEOs, some are moms, some are dads, some are contractors, doctors, and so much more! But the one thing they all have in common is their favorite fragrance is the smell of diesel, and their favorite sound is the beautiful sound of a jake brake!
